Wildlife Camp is an authentic oasis where you can observe the free-roaming wildlife moving in and around the camp at close quarters.
Wildlife Camp treats guests to an affordable retreat in a natural sanctuary, situated on the banks of the Luangwa River straddling the western border of South Luangwa National Park in Zambia. The diverse habitat is home to spectacular wildlife including lion, leopard, wild dog, buffalo, elephant, hippos and many more species. Wildlife Camp’s professional guides lead a variety of activities, ensuring that you’ll leave Zambia with a true and authentic experience. Morning safaris are usually the perfect way to see and photograph Zambia’s big mammals. Birding in South Luangwa National Park is also remarkable, and the valley floor hosts trees older than 1000 years old. When the sun goes down, a different set of animals appear.
Large spotted genets, African civets, and Pel’s Fishing Owl are a frequent highlight. With the park known to have the highest concentration of leopard in Africa, night drives offer your best chance to see one. Wildlife Camp’s walking safaris provide a completely different way of experiencing Mother Nature. Walking quietly through the bush, you can explore the fascinating insect and plant world up close. You may even notice giraffes look a lot taller from that vantage point and that monkeys aren't afraid of stepping in dung.
Wildlife Camp has several types of accommodation suit a variety of budgets and travel preferences. They offer rustic en-suite chalets, secluded en-suite tents, a campsite, and a remote bush camp for overnight walking safaris. They have five chalets situated in a quiet corner of the camp, overlooking a lagoon area and surrounded by huge shady trees.
There are also four chalets located in the centre of the camp, by a year-round watering hole, which attracts a variety of animals. Wildlife Camp’s barefoot en-suite camp is in a private corner of the camp with some of the most spectacular views in Zambia. All seven tents, under thatched roofs, have two beds, open-air shower/toilet facilities with hot water, standing fan, mosquito nets, a safe, electricity, and a small veranda. Wildlife's campsite is set away from the main lodge in a prime position on the banks of the Luangwa River. The campsite has shared washrooms with hot showers, fresh drinking water, thatched shelters, power points, a bar, and a swimming pool. The overnight walking safari to their bush-camp, on prime river-side property, offers guests a unique bush adventure. You’ll experience bucket showers, three-course dinners cooked over an open fire and bread baked in a ‘termite-mound-oven’. Back at the lodge, the main bar and restaurant cater to all tastes with fresh and local ingredients.
