Time + Tide Chongwe House
Time + Tide Chongwe House is a private, sole use safari house on a peaceful stretch of the Chongwe River, with mountain views and a generous indoor-outdoor flow. Designed for families or groups, the two storey house has four en suite bedrooms and sleeps up to eight adults, with extra beds available for children. Each room has indoor and outdoor showers, open air baths, double or twin configuration and eco-friendly Evening Breeze cooling. WiFi is available, although there is no phone signal, which adds to the feeling of retreat.
The house includes a large swimming pool, outdoor lounge, boma with fire pit, dining area, outdoor kitchen with pizza oven and open flame barbecue, as well as an indoor lounge, bar and dining area. A dedicated staff and culinary team look after the house, while a private guide and activities team shape each day around the group. Activities include morning and afternoon game drives, walking safaris, cultural visits, seasonal boat cruises, seasonal canoeing and seasonal tiger fishing. A 20 minute welcome massage is included, and the Time + Tide Sleepout Under the Stars can be added.
Chongwe House is open from 1 April to 15 November and welcomes children of all ages. Rates include accommodation, all meals, standard drinks, transfers to and from the local airport except Jeki, local inter camp road transfers, laundry, service charge and two daily activities. Reserve spirits, premium wines and champagnes, flights, visas, spa treatments, gratuities and personal expenses are excluded.
