Time + Tide Chongwe House

Standing on the banks of the Chongwe River, a quiet creek of the Zambezi that borders the Lower Zambezi National Park, is a unique and elegantly designed, private home: the Time + Tide Chongwe River House.
This stunning two-storey, four-bedroom private house, on a tranquil stretch of the Chongwe River, is set against a beautiful mountainous backdrop. Flexibility and personal service are key features at Time + Tide Chongwe House. Throughout your stay, you're served by a personal team including your very own guide, boat, and vehicle. This area is renowned for its enormous herds of elephants and is also home to many other species, including the elusive leopard.

Experience the magnificent wilderness of the Lower Zambezi National Park on game drives and guided walking safaris. For a unique game-viewing experience, paddle on the river in a canoe and spot countless varieties of wild animals on its banks. Alternatively, stay at the house and relax on the platform above the large swimming pool, as you admire the surrounding mountain vistas.
Time + Tide Chongwe House blends effortlessly into the tranquil river setting. The design’s flowing curves and bends evolve into open living spaces that celebrate the surrounding wilderness. Waterfall showers, private open-air bathtubs,

furniture carved from a Winterthorn tree and ceilings studded with river pebbles complete the inspired design. The deck and swimming pool, with plenty of comfortable seating and lounging areas, lie under a huge Winterthorn tree and seem to merge with the river. Listen to fish eagle calls and the faint sound of a resident family of warthogs ‘mowing’ the grass outside. Watch elephants wade across the river right in front of the house. Your personal kitchen team is highly skilled in combining local delights with Western restaurant standards. Savour fine dining in the wild, featuring local and seasonal ingredients.
