We’ve seen the first rays of 2022 and they truly are green and gold. Rather than dwell on a long night behind us, together we‘re looking forward and spending the beginning of 2022 having a truly marvelous time. So what does being ‘merry’ mean to Green Safaris, aside from helping our communities, our environment, and the wildlife around us? It means:
Wild walking safaris and family-friendly fun: exploring the South Luangwa National Park with legendary Zambian guide, Jacob Shawa, and creating special memories with loved ones at our brand new Shawa Luangwa Camp.
Silent Safaris by boat and game drive: navigating the Kafue River and National Park via electric boat or Land Cruiser before poolside cocktails at Ila Safari Lodge, just a few hours outside Lusaka.
Mountain biking and stargazing: connecting deeply (from June to November) with the beautiful Busanga Plains wilderness by mountain bike, on foot or from a human-sized ‘Nest’ suite at Chisa Busanga Camp, also first opened this year.
Chasing waterfalls and daring adventures: flying above, walking below, or even swimming right in Angel’s or Devil’s Pool on the very edge of Victoria Falls, before retreating to Tongabezi Lodge and Sindabezi Island Camp, just upstream of the great Mosi-oa-Tunya.
And although it’s a little further afield, many of you have been dreaming of a relaxing beach escape, so Green Safaris is offering resident rates for Kaya Mawa Lodge. Salt-free waves lap against the sandy beaches of Likoma Island, and sailing, diving, wake-boarding, cycling, and paddle-boarding adventures await. Located on Lake Malawi, Kaya Mawa is incredibly accessible from most parts of Zambia and is also the perfect place to truly unplug in 2022.
2021’s year-end was about more than being merry. It was about being grateful, and we’re grateful for the gifts that Africa continues to bestow upon us, like:
Wild Neighbours, with claws, paws, scales, feathers, and tails, each dressed to the nines in fabulous designs that match their varying personalities.
Gifts of Gold, in sunsets and campfires, candles and starlight, and lion’s manes.
Sunshine Power, to give eco-friendly light at lodges and fuel adventures by boat, car, or bike that take our guests further into the wild in respectful silence.
Brilliant Friends, those people with wide smiles and open hands, who would show us that the best way to go far is to go together.
Traditional, Culture-Filled Music, for dancing, singing, or simply listening to whilst you watch the world, because what brings people together better than music?
Green Gardens, to grow and to tend on fertile land, to nourish and be nourished by.
Africa has so much love to give with all her beauty, culture and unexplored landscapes. Zambia is at your fingertips, and each Green Safaris property is waiting to offer you a range of unique experiences that are likely to let you begin 2022 feeling fresh and fired up for a new year. From our family to yours, we wish you a New Year filled with amazing adventures.
